Biography
NARA
An artist, visual director, influencer, and stylist based in Korea, NARA describes herself as “small but strong.”
She majored in Fine Art, with additional studies in Women’s Studies and Media Studies. Drawing from these foundations, she held a solo exhibition after graduation. Currently, she actively collaborates with other artists while pursuing various forms of creative work, including performance, drawing, and essays.
Her Instagram content is rooted in fashion but also reflects her life and identity. She advocates for self-expression regardless of height, race, or gender. As a queer (bisexual) woman, she creates content and shares stories about living authentically. Recognized as an icon of queer, female, and fashion culture in Korea, she has been featured in numerous publications such as Dazed, Vogue Korea, and Vogue US.
In 2019, she became the first Korean influencer invited to attend Maison Margiela’s show, leading her to travel frequently between Paris and Korea. Since then, she has attended annual shows by major brands such as Acne Studios, Balenciaga, Marni, and Coperni.
NARA continues to collaborate with global brands, notably serving as a global ambassador for H&M Studio in 2023 and Maison Margiela Fragrance in 2021 and 2022. She has also worked on campaigns with brands like Acne Studios and Mercedes-Benz.
In Korea, she has worked as a visual director and stylist for Rolling Stone Korea, collaborating with prominent artists such as CL, P Nation, ATEEZ, LOONA, and Le Sserafim.
As an artist, NARA participated in the 2019 collaborative project Default with artist Kim Hyojae and held her solo exhibition Dress and Spirit in 2022. Her creative work extends into various mediums, including writing, installations, painting, and performance, as well as tattoo art.
In 2024, NARA attended The Fashion Awards hosted by the British Fashion Council in London, an event celebrating 50 of the most innovative and inspiring young talents shaping the global fashion industry.
